Westhaven Announces Positive Preliminary Nickel Sulphide Results from its Ben Project

Vancouver, B.C. - October 21, 2014 - Westhaven Ventures Inc. (TSX-V:WHN) is pleased to announce positive preliminary nickel sulphide results from its BEN property, located approximately 50 km north of Williams Lake, B.C.

A total of 55 samples from drill holes BN14-04, BN14-08, BN14-11, BN14-12 and BN14-13 were reanalyzed for nickel sulphides using ALS Minerals' ammonium citrate leach and hydrogen peroxide finish. The ammonium citrate leach results, which provide approximate sulphide nickel content, suggest the majority of assayed intervals contain a significant proportion of sulphide hosted nickel that may be available for recovery by conventional flotation methods.

Current Drill Program

Westhaven has started an approximately 800 metre drill program which is testing newly discovered ground magnetic anomalies within the vicinity of drill holes BN13-03 and BN14-12. Data from previous drill programs has indicated that higher nickel grades are associated with higher magnetic susceptibility readings.

Qualified Person Statement

L. John Peters, P.Geo., who is a Qualified Person within the context of National Instrument 43-101 has read and takes responsibility for this release.

The samples were assayed at ALS Minerals laboratory in Canada using theirNi-ICP05 method. This method is based on the selective decomposition of nickel sulphide. A solution mixture of 10% ammonium citrate and 35% hydrogen peroxide is used to leach the samples. Hydrogen peroxide, a strong oxidizing agent, oxidizes Ni sulphide to sulphate and releases Ni sulphide into the solution.

Neither the TSX Venture Exchange nor its Regulation Services Provider (as that term is defined in the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange) accepts responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
