Logging Geologist

POSITION TITLE:                                                           Logging Geologist

POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:                                 Operations Manager

POSITION ULTIMATELY REPORTS TO:                            Chief Geologist / General Manager

START DATE:                                                                 Immediately.

BROAD RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

• The area of responsibility is centered in the Westhaven core shack located in Merritt, B.C.
• Logging and/or sampling core
• Data entry and management
• Ensuring geotechnical duties are completed
• Other duties as assigned

GENERAL EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

• Represent the Company’s best interests in all dealings with stakeholders, contractors, the media and public
• Wear all required personal protective equipment
• Respect other people on site and work as a dynamic member of the team
• General housekeeping – inspecting work areas and equipment for hazards, malfunctions, or damage
• Report all unsafe conditions, practices and/or acts
• Report all accidents, incidents, injuries, and close calls
• Maintain health, safety, and environmental standards

This job description is intended as a starting point; it is anticipated that over time an employee may have substantial further input into this role description as the employee learns new skills and advances within his/her career.  The role may also evolve, in consultation with senior geological supervisors, dependent upon an employee’s ambitions in terms of particular goals within an employee’s longer term career path.

Due to the nature of the Company’s services, the Company may change your title, the person whom you report to and the group you work in.  Any change will not have the effect of reducing your compensation.
